We use these three seasonings on everything. From roasted veggies, sprinkled over yogurt, as a rub on chicken, fish or lamb, they will transform your pantry.
Sprinkle za'atar over olive oil and dip grilled or toasted sourdough bread in it. It's a wonderful finish on roasted veggies, along with some dollops of thick yogurt or tahini to instantly elevate your meal. The possibilities are truly endless with this one. Villa Jerada's blend is made with hyssop, sumac, sesame, olive oil & sea salt.
We like sumac for its punchy, earthy, citrusy flavor, making it a great substitute for lemon, tamarind or vinegar. It is originally a red berry from Turkey and is traditionally used with za'atar or yogurt. It's flecks of deep purple are beautiful sprinkled over a salad, mixed into a vinaigrette, or sprinkled on fruit. It is also lovely on roasted veggies (as are many of Villa Jerada's spices!).
